Welcome to the Second Biennial Youth Protection Conference

The Boy Scouts of America places great emphasis on creating the safest environment possible for our youth and adult members. They have developed a wide variety procedural and leadership selection policies and provides important training resources for adult leaders to support these efforts.
At this conference we will discuss these critical policies and programs in depth. Participants will engage in practical discussions and activities focused on policies and actions designed to protect our members. Conference participants will complete and earn certifications in BSA required programs:

- Safety Afloat
- Health and Safety Training
Special Presentations
- Youth Protection Issues Today
Our keynote discussion will focus on youth protection issues that face our leaders and units today. We'll share experiences that will help you to update your youth protection best practices.
- Twitter, Facebook, and Texting: Issues Facing Today’s Youth
Discussion on important issues and how to avoid common pitfalls that could affect you and your Scouts as they interact through Facebook, MySpace, and other web-based social networking sites.
- Gang awareness and youth social challenges
Gang violence and other social challenges await all our youth and is a serious issue in many of our communities. Gang experts will help us to better understand gangs and their potential impact on our Scouts and our community.
Event Fee - $30
