2011 Sea Scout Cruise Aboard USCGC Barque Eagle

Cruise with the Us Coast Guard!

Each year the US Coast Guard and Sea Scouts, BSA team up to offer the cruise opportunity of a lifetime - a week long cruise as a crew member aboard the tall ship USCG Barque Eagle.  Sea Scouts selected will serve alongside USCG Cadets as they demonstrate and perfect their sailing cruise aboard this historic vessel.

When Are the Cruises?

This year the Coast Guard is offering three cruise opportunities -

  • Jul 24 -30, 2011 (Boston, MA - New Bedford, MA)
  • Jul 31 - Aug 6, 2011 (New Bedford, MA - New York, NY), and
  • Aug 7 -13, 2011 (New York, NY - New London, CT)

Who should apply?

Any Sea Scout who is interested.  The ideal candidate will be an active Sea Scout who is at least Able rank, a leader in his or her Ship, a SEAL graduate, 16 or 17 years old, in the 10th or 11th grade at the time of application, and with an interest in the Coast Guard or other military or maritime career.  Remember though, in the past many successful applicants have not had all of these attributes.  So, who should apply?  Any Sea Scout who is interested.

How and When Should I Apply?

Apply now!  All applications must be received by BSA no later than March 31, 2011.
